My focus is on partnering with business owners and managers across various sectors to help them achieve their financial and strategic objectives.
My role is to provide real-time support and insights, and to be a trusted adviser, specialising in the areas of risk management and governance, change management, digital transformation and business processes integration.
I work closely with business stakeholders at all levels, identifying needs, evaluating purposeful opportunities and scenarios, making recommendations and, together, making better decisions. We then implement those actions and measure their impact with a focus on creating and protecting long-term sustainable value.
Sustainability and climate change is an increasingly urgent focus for businesses, large and small
I constantly review the services offered from the end user’s perspective, and continue to develop capabilities and skills to provide the highest quality service. Throughout this, I embed the values of collaboration, integrity and innovation into all deliverables to support the creation of a fairer, more sustainable economy and thriving society. There is a huge sense of achievement when you can help a client turn a sustainability challenge into a new opportunity.
Among my clients and, indeed, in my own view, the economic outlook overall is positive but not without its challenges. Sustainability and climate change is an increasingly urgent focus for businesses, large and small. Businesses and financial professionals have a critical role to play in the world’s transition to a sustainable future.
These unprecedented challenges are an opportunity for SMEs and accountants to take the leading role in driving sustainability in the business sector.
Information empowers people to think differently, and I would like to see better statistics and data coming from government. How much easier would it be for our politicians to make sustainable, equitable, inclusive, ethical and innovative choices to support all businesses if there was efficient access to a centre of excellence for trusted and dynamic data?

A lot has changed about the way we can and are allowed to work and do business. It would be great to permanently incorporate the best of these changes to empower people to live their best personal and business lives.
Businesses that adapt to flexible work structures will no doubt be a magnet and target for top talent and investment, and will not only survive but thrive.
The most important business lessons I have learned in my career are to embrace change, identify the opportunities arising for your clients, evaluate their risk appetite and stay the journey with them. Try and be realistic with them; this approach builds trust, which is key to long-term client relationships.
Also, never compromise on your integrity; look to where value can be added; and work hard on communication skills. Last, but not least, work at something you enjoy!
