ACCA Ireland chair Jason Murphy, guest speaker professor Mary Horgan, president of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland, together with a member panel, join an online discussion on Friday, 4 March from 12.45 pm to 2pm.
They will discuss ways to tackle discrimination, celebrate our differences and forge an equal future. ACCA members are invited to contribute to this year’s global campaign theme, #BreakTheBias, by promoting a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination, that is diverse, equitable and inclusive, where difference is valued and celebrated.
Professor Horgan, the first female president of the Royal College of Physicians since its foundation in 1654, has a research interest in the fields of medical education and infectious diseases. During the pandemic, as well as working on the frontline, she was appointed chair of Ireland’s first National Research Ethics Committee, is a member of the National Public Health Emergency Team, and is chair of the government’s Expert Group on Rapid Testing.
