I’ve chosen an unconventional path, pursuing part-time ACCA studies by attending tuition centres and supplementing my learning through self-study. Upon graduating and becoming an ACCA affiliate, I headed into audit, an industry highly recommended by senior leaders for its invaluable learning opportunities.
With eight years of audit experience, I’ve been exposed to the financials of various industries, allowing me to develop strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of diverse business sectors. This experience has sparked my curiosity about the commercial side of finance, inspiring me to explore it from a strategic business perspective. This growing interest drives my eagerness to transition into commercial finance, where I can leverage my experience to contribute to financial planning and decision-making. This excites me as it aligns with my passion for problem-solving and value creation.
What I enjoy most is bridging finance and business strategy
As a senior finance manager at Pollux Properties, I’m responsible for overseeing financial operations, which include financial reporting, budgeting and cashflow management. I play a key role in ensuring compliance and providing strategic insights through financial analysis to support business growth, while assisting leadership in making data-driven decisions. One of the biggest challenges is navigating the complexities of the real-estate industry and balancing risk management while identifying growth opportunities. What I enjoy most is bridging finance and business strategy, providing insights that drive key business decisions.
Operating in Singapore’s real-estate sector means navigating market volatility and economic fluctuations. Trends like the growing demand for sustainable buildings, smart technologies and Proptech are shaping the sector. What excites me most is the opportunity to contribute to digital transformation in financial operations and eco-friendly solutions in the real-estate market.
ACCA has undoubtedly provided me with a solid foundation in accounting, finance and strategic management. Its professional network has offered a great platform to share knowledge, learn invaluable insights and stay updated with the latest technical and practical developments.
One of my proudest achievements was managing portfolios of listed companies, multinational corporations and other special audits, such as IPOs, during which I consistently met or surpassed performance targets. A key part of my success was balancing this demanding workload with strong team management, while fostering a positive and collaborative environment to keep one another motivated. We worked hard, but also took time to play very hard, too, which helped strengthen our teamwork and drive successful outcomes. This experience reinforced the importance of leadership and teamwork in delivering results.

If I weren’t an accountant, my childhood ambition was to be a pilot. I’ve always been fascinated with flying and travelling the world.
