Throughout my career I have taken on as much as possible in order to test my multitasking and decision-making skills. The challenging part of my role is to successfully combine this with another important task: forming a team.
Creating and promoting team spirit in the office – and in life – has always been my passion. Practising this in a multicultural environment like Hong Kong is a challenge that I have always wanted to undertake.
The business environment here is much more grand in scale and in scope
My current role involves managing all operational aspects in our Hong Kong office. This includes overseeing the administrative services provided to clients, and advising them on their international structuring and reputation, while also trying to diversify and develop our portfolio.
During the summer holidays of 2007, I decided to get the LCCI elementary-level qualification; this was my first contact with accounting. I gained my bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Cyprus with a specialisation in accounting. This helped me to get a job as a junior auditor in one of the biggest audit firms in Cyprus, where I completed my ACCA studies.
I was offered the opportunity to work in Hong Kong, which was something that excited me as soon as it was on the table. I arrived here in January 2021, six months later than expected due to the Covid-19 pandemic; I was really looking forward to getting to know Hong Kong.
The business environment here is much more grand in scale and in scope. This offers vast opportunities in terms of networking, collaborating and paving your career path forward.
The role of the accountant will likely gain ever higher stature in the years ahead. With constant technological advancements, we will undertake the important role of guiding organisations into the new era.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling. Exploring new places takes me out of my comfort zone and inspires me to see, taste and try different things.
