The initial inspiration for pursuing a career in accounting and finance was my dad, who was a banking professional. Accounting firms were always an attraction, given their pivotal role in shaping the finance world. I really wanted to be a part of it so I can contribute to the profession and the practice.
My team works on complex technical accounting issues and also assists companies in their initial public offering (IPO) journeys. What excites me most about my role is that every day we solve unique and complex issues for our clients, which not only requires technical expertise and experience but also out-of-the-box thinking.

There are many fascinating success stories within my professional career, so it’s hard to name just one. The one that perhaps stands out the most is how proud I feel to be a part of the PwC network, through which I get to live and work with such incredible individuals on a day-to-day basis – people who constantly inspire me and keep me motivated.
I feel very lucky to be a part of helping solve important client problems and helping them achieve their objectives in their journey towards growth and development.
There is a great deal of movement in the business world, and more specifically in finance, with some major trends affecting the outlook for years to come. Globally, there is a lot of thinking going into digital transformation and technology enabling businesses to automate finance processes.
Additionally, environmental, social and governance and climate reporting is moving to the centre of our sphere of focus, as more and more businesses worry about the relevant disclosures and related reporting requirements.
One of my biggest achievements to date, on a professional level at least, is the honour of becoming an FCCA. Beyond this, there are many proud moments, especially when we achieve milestones like taking companies to IPO or solving their major accounting issues. Essentially, my professional growth story is closely aligned with my clients’ objectives.
If I weren’t an accountant, what would I be? I always wanted to be a cricketer. I love the sport from the bottom of my heart, so I’m lucky to live in a cricket mad country like Australia. I would have been a batsman. Alternatively, an entrepreneur in the services industry, contributing to society in a field like human capital development.
