ACCA’s Council met on 8 November 2022 and considered several matters prior to the AGM, including reports from the chief executive and Council Board, the standing orders for the following year and the annual reports from the Council Board, Regulatory Board and standing committees.
ACCA’s annual Council meeting took place on 10 November 2022 immediately following ACCA’s 117th AGM, which was held virtually. At the annual Council meeting, Council elected ACCA’s officers for the coming year. ACCA’s new president is Joseph Owolabi. He will be supported by Ronnie Patton (deputy president) and Ayla Majid (vice president).
Council welcomed 14 new members, whose election was declared at the AGM: Jennifer Yuen Chun Tan, Jane Yang, Merina Abu Tahir, Anastasia Chalkidou, Gary Kent, Helen Morgan, Cathal Cusack, James Lizars, Trusha Lakhani, Joe O’Regan, Ian Ng, Md Arif Al Islam, Dinesh Jangid and Amos Ng.
Council also welcomed the six re-elected members: Natalie Wo Mi Chan, Zaiton Mohd Hassan, Gillian McCreadie, Michelle Hourican, Sharon Critchlow and Carol-Ann Boothe.
Council took several other decisions at its annual meeting, including:
- electing three Council members to serve on the Nominating and Governance Committee in 2022-23
- adopting Council’s standing orders for 2022-23 in accordance with the bye-laws
- approving the Council regulations for 2023
- agreeing the Council work plan and objectives for the year ahead.
